Ferries to Elba Island

Elba is easily accessible by sea thanks to daily ferry connections from Piombino Marittima on the Tuscan coast.

Prices vary depending on the ferry company and time of year, and journey times also differ: 70 minutes to Portoferraio, 45 minutes to Rio Marina and 35 minutes to Cavo. From October to March, ferries depart every two hours, whilst from April to September departures run hourly. There is also a fast hydrofoil service available for passenger transport only.

There are four shipping companies operating services to Elba: Toremar, Moby Lines, Blu Navy and Corsica Sardegna Elba Ferries.

The island’s main port is Portoferraio, reachable in about an hour from Piombino. There are numerous connections to the ports of Rio Marina and Cavo.

Ferry timetables vary depending on the season, with services running every 30 minutes in summer.
