Pievasciata, a small village in the heart of Chianti Senese, is transforming into a contemporary art centre.
The focal point is the Chianti Sculpture Park, a permanent exhibition of contemporary installations and sculptures integrated within an enchanting woodland of oak and holm oak trees.
Within the park, an amphitheatre/sculpture has been created, offering visitors an impressive programme of concerts and cultural events. Finally, just a few metres away, the Old Kiln houses a sculpture gallery.
The Chianti Sculpture Park is an ideal destination not only for art lovers but also for those seeking something different in the Chianti area. The visit suits people of all ages and takes place on foot along a route of approximately one kilometre, which is also accessible by pushchair or wheelchair.

The park has three main characteristics
Each artist visited the woodland and made a specific proposal for their chosen location.
The fusion of the artworks with the trees, sounds, colours, light and every other natural element is complete. Here, human creativity does not seek to overshadow nature, but rather to integrate and enhance it.
The Chianti Sculpture Park was born from an initiative by the Giadrossi couple, both passionate about contemporary art. They dedicated 7 hectares of a mystical woodland of oak and holm oak trees to this project, which is fenced because it housed a wild boar farm until the early 1990s. After five years of work, the park was officially inaugurated in May 2004.
Since then, a Labyrinth was added in 2007, the “Falling Leaf” artwork in 2008, and the amphitheatre in 2009.
To this day, it remains the only example of contemporary art integrated with nature in the Province of Siena.
