Florence Fiera hosts around 20 trade fairs and exhibitions each year, both national and international in scope, ranging from high fashion shows (such as Pitti Immagine Uomo and Pitti Immagine Bimbo) to craft exhibitions (International Craft Exhibition), plus events dedicated to sport and leisure (Danza in Fiera).

Congresses and conferences represent over a third of the company’s activities and comprise national and international conference events, with particular emphasis on intergovernmental conferences (from the European Summit to NATO ministerial conferences), which benefit from the Fortress’s superior functionality and security facilities.

Florence Fiera SpA is the joint-stock company that manages Florence’s three main exhibition and conference venues:

• Fortezza da Basso, designed by Giuliano da Sangallo the Younger in the first half of the 16th century under commission from Alessandro dei Medici;
• Palazzo dei Congressi, housed within a 19th-century villa built by the Strozzi family, now impeccably restored and preserving period furnishings and décor;
• Palazzo degli Affari, a modern, multipurpose and flexible structure completed in 1974 by architect Spadolini.

These three venues distinguish themselves as exhibition and conference spaces that are particularly distinctive and of exceptional prestige.

Florence Fiera’s principal shareholders include: the Tuscany Region, Florence City Council, Florence Province and Chamber of Commerce, plus Prato City Council, Prato Province and Chamber of Commerce, as well as all of Florence’s leading trade associations.

The company offers an outstanding portfolio of events comprising congresses, conferences and 20 trade fair initiatives annually. The three venues are well equipped to enhance and strengthen Florence’s conference and exhibition offering, enabling them to compete in a particularly demanding sector where competition grows ever fiercer.

Convention Bureau Lucca and Val di Serchio

Few things are more complex or sensitive than organising an event or conference programme—the stakes couldn’t be higher for corporate reputation. As the importance of such events grows, so too does the need for increasingly sophisticated organisational expertise, ensuring both comprehensive service provision and attentive client support.

For these reasons, leading hotels, tourism operators and media companies in Lucca and Val di Serchio have joined forces to establish the Convention Bureau Lucca and Val di Serchio, a collaborative organisation designed to promote and coordinate professional conference provision.

The conference facilities are:

Versilia Conference Centre

The Versilia Conference Centre is located at the Hotel il Principe di Piemonte in Viareggio. Each year it welcomes thousands of visitors, establishing itself as one of Tuscany’s most prestigious conference venues.
