Tuscany is one of Italy’s regions that best embodies the idea of the Italian good life. And it couldn’t be otherwise, since in a region you can drive from north to south in just over three hours, the landscapes and views span from sea to mountains, from rolling hills to thermal spas, not to mention art cities. Tuscany has everything, and if you’re interested in exploring it with a desire to be pampered and enjoy some luxury, there’s nothing better than choosing a resort or holiday village.
Typically, holiday villages in Tuscany operate on an all-inclusive basis, meaning breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price, sometimes even drinks with meals. The ideal choice if you want a holiday focused on relaxation, enjoying the magnificent Tuscan views, perhaps at sunset whilst sipping an aperitivo with a view.
Offers for holiday villages are certainly not in short supply, especially if you book well in advance. At the same time, you can also find last-minute deals that allow those who can take advantage of them to enjoy top-notch Tuscan hospitality at a fraction of the list price. Villages on the seafront or even beachfront, thoughtfully set within the surrounding landscape, as well as countryside villages and resorts that often represent the evolution of classic farm stays, which in Tuscany at the start of the century became a new form of non-hotel accommodation and later found widespread popularity among tourists from around the world.
It’s not a ranking, but the first of the Tuscan holiday villages and resorts we present to you is the Terme di Saturnia Natural Spa & Golf Resort, a wonderful five-star property located at the Saturnia thermal baths, one of Tuscany’s icons and an unmissable destination during a holiday in this marvellous region. You’ll have the chance to enjoy luxury thermal spa tourism, thanks to the wonderful travertine pools and spa with Roman baths and natural pools. You’ll also have access to the wellness centre, with hot tubs, Turkish bath and sauna, where you can also have treatments and massages, or simply relax on one of the many loungers you’ll find in the garden.
The property also boasts an 18-hole golf course and a juice bar located within the thermal park, which occasionally hosts contemporary art exhibitions. You can choose between deluxe or superior rooms, as well as suites, deluxe suites and junior suites, able to accommodate up to 4 guests. If you get tired of the thermal baths, you have the option to take the car and head to the Argentario beaches, about 50 minutes away.
From the Maremma hills we move to the Livorno coast, where in Marina di Castagneto Carducci you’ll find the Paradù EcoVillage & Resort, a beachfront holiday village with a private beach, which allows its guests to enjoy the sea and fine weather of the Costa degli Etruschi, nestled in a typically Tuscan coastal setting, a pine forest that ends directly on the beach. The rooms at Borgo Magliano Resort are furnished in rustic style with period furniture and of all types, able to accommodate from two to four people; next to them you’ll also find numerous very spacious apartments, capable of hosting up to six adults. We remain in Grosseto province but this time we move to the coast, a few kilometres north of Follonica. We return to Marina di Castagneto Carducci, where on the seafront you’ll find the Canado Club Family Village, a resort located in front of a private beach at Donoratico that is ideal for a holiday with children. In fact, the little ones have entertainment staff at their disposal and plenty of entertainment opportunities. The same goes for adults, who can enjoy the two restaurants, the American bar and the beach bar, as well as beach volleyball, tennis, five-a-side football courts and the possibility of renting canoes. Of course the property also offers a pool, very large and definitely well-maintained.
You can choose from several accommodation options, from apartments with 1 or 2 bedrooms to the comfort room, passing through the family room with a children’s theme fully equipped with three beds and wall decorations and stuffed animals that will delight the little guests.
At Vada, a hamlet of Castiglioncello in Livorno province, one of the most famous resorts is undoubtedly the Vada Village. It’s a holiday village located about one and a half kilometres from the beach, but the distance is more than made up for by the presence of a beautiful outdoor pool, which in addition to a garden and fitness centre will give you the opportunity to spend a holiday focused on relaxation and wellness.
At Vada Village you can enjoy Tuscan cuisine at the restaurant, which also serves pizza and fish specialities. At the same time, children will be happy to stay here thanks to the spacious play area, ideal for keeping the little ones entertained. You can then reach the beach with a walk of about 20 minutes or by renting a bicycle at reception. The options for accommodation are mainly of two types: the double room for two people, or chalets, available with lounge and bedroom, or with lounge and two bedrooms.
Tuscany is famous for its rolling hills, its villages and its wines, and the Villa Svetoni Wine Resort will allow you to experience your holiday by expertly combining these three ingredients. Located at Montepulciano, a name that alone excites wine enthusiasts, this splendid villa surrounded by greenery boasts spectacular views and is ideally positioned to visit some of the most important attractions of the Val d’Orcia.
